Aquaculture operations, whether intensive RAS systems or remote sea-based farms, rely on a stable oxygen supply to protect stock and sustain performance. Oxygen gas (GOX) is typically generated on site for daily use. Liquid oxygen (LOX), however, is often delivered externally to cover peak loads or emergency scenarios.
This dual reliance creates a bottleneck. LOX delivery comes with risk: delays, cost, and logistical complexity that reduce operational control.
To eliminate this vulnerability, OXYMAT and Stirling Cryogenics have partnered to deliver a fully autonomous oxygen supply solution. The combined setup produces both GOX and LOX directly at the facility.
Two technologies. One continuous supply
At the core of this integrated solution is OXYMAT’s PSA oxygen generation technology, designed to extract oxygen from ambient air with up to 95 percent purity. These systems are engineered for continuous operation in harsh aquaculture environments and are available in a range of configurations. This includes our robust Twin Tower systems and the compact Nordic series, which are tailored to match different capacity needs and site conditions.
To complete the solution, Stirling Cryogenics provides its Cryogenerators. These compact, self-contained machines liquefy PSA-generated oxygen into LOX for on-site storage. Based on the proven Stirling cycle, these units offer:
- Liquid oxygen production capacities from 5 to 240 liters per hour
- Integrated cold head and compressor unit
- High efficiency without the need for pre-cooling or external refrigerants
- Plug-and-play installation with fully automated operation
This GOX and LOX setup provides full flexibility, storage security, and complete independence from external supply chains. It is designed specifically to meet the demands of aquaculture operations.

Complete integrated set-up of GOX and LOX system.
Why it matters in aquaculture
- Full autonomy – No reliance on external LOX deliveries
- Peak readiness – On-site LOX covers high-demand and emergency needs
- Compact and scalable – Suitable for both land-based and marine sites
- Continuous performance – Built for high-humidity, corrosive environments
- Smart control – Remote monitoring and full system visibility
Meet us at Aqua Nor
OXYMAT and Stirling Cryogenics will present this combined GOX and LOX solution at Aqua Nor, taking place from August 19 to 21, 2025 in Trondheim.
Visit us at the Pavilion of Denmark, Booth D 363.
Kim Andersen from OXYMAT and Fernst van Osch with Ellen Coolen from Stirling Cryogenics will be available to present the solution and show you how it can give your aquaculture operation complete oxygen independence.
